Board of Health to meet Thursday

The San Juan Basin Health Department Board of Health will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday in the department’s Columbine Conference Room, 281 Sawyer Drive. The board will also meet June 27 at a location to be determined.

The public is welcome. In general, the meetings take place on the fourth Thursday of each month and meet in Pagosa Springs every third month.

Health department offers worksite wellness

The San Juan Basin Health Department’s Worksite Wellness Program is available to teach healthy cooking and preparation demonstrations at participating worksites.

Health department has next day appointments

San Juan Basin Health Department’s Health Services offers individuals next day appointments for immunizations, annual exams, STD testing or birth control.

The department can connect individuals with other services offered at San Juan Basin Health or provide resources and referrals to community providers.

Headache workshop Wednesday at library

“The Ultimate Headache Workshop” will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

The workshop will be presented by wellness coach and chiropractor Robert Fitts, who will talk about the top headache triggers and how to avoid them. He will discuss treatments available without medication. All donations will support the Women’s Resource Center.
