CPR, first-aid classes available online

Heart Safe La Plata is offering online CPR and first-aid training to the community.

People can sign up for and take the course on their home computers. Participants will need to schedule the hands-on skills portion to receive a two-year certification.

The cost for either CPR or basic first aid is $50.

An adult CPR/AED course will take place at 6 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Durango Fire & Rescue Authority training room, 142 Sheppard Drive.

This course will cost $50 and provides a two-year certification.

CPR PRO for health-care professionals will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Durango Fire & Rescue Authority training room, 142 Sheppard Drive.

The cost is $65. This course will cover adult, child and infant CPR.

Instructors are available to teach at businesses or organizations.

Acupuncture clinic available to veterans

A Durango Veterans Acupuncture Clinic will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Mondays and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays at 635 East Fifth Ave.

This is a free, community-style acupuncture clinic for veterans and their families. The clinic is sponsored by The Durango Acupuncture Alliance.
