Heart Safe to offer two CPR classes
Heart Safe La Plata, a local nonprofit organization, will offer these CPR classes at Durango Fire Protection District’s Station 1, 142 Sheppard Drive:
An Adult CPR/AED class will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 7.
A CPR Pro class will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 14.

Neck pain discussion scheduled for Jan. 12
Mercy Regional Medical Center will present a free community presentation called “Neck Pain Explained” by fellowship-trained spine surgeon Dr. Douglas Orndorff at 6 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
Orndorff will explain common causes of neck and arm pain, numbness and weakness associated with degenerative changes on the upper spine. He also will describe treatments and innovative procedures that can provide relief. Snacks will be served. Seating is limited.
