Heart Safe La Plata hires a new program director

Heart Safe La Plata has hired Kaylie Smith as the new program director.

Smith is a Durango native and is available to help with CPR and first aid training needs, from scheduling online classes to issuing digital certifications. She is the first point of contact for all 378 automated external defibrillator locations in La Plata and San Juan county, keeping up with pad and battery replacements, servicing AEDs following their use and ordering new AEDs as necessary.

She will also be in charge of maintaining Heart Safe’s social media sites with pictures and current information and keeping up with the business accounting and payroll.
