Freshman outside hitter Alexis Hobie was named to the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Honorable Mention team, the league announced Wednesday.
“It’s such an honor to be represented as a freshman in a tough conference,” said head coach Giedre Tarnauskaite. “She came in and contributed immediately with a huge presence on the court. She is someone that we can build a program around, and she’s shown that she can handle the big moments with veteran poise – we are so proud of her.”
Hobie was a mainstay in the starting lineup in her first season with the Skyhawks and was one of two players to start every match. The Eugene, Oregon, native led the team in points with 250.5. She pounded away a team-best 220 kills. In addition to her offensive contributions, the outside hitter picked up 149 digs and 23 total blocks.
Hobie had a season-high 21 kills in a five-set match with Westminster College and put up a season-high 14 digs in a win over South Dakota Mines on Oct. 22. The freshman compiled six double-doubles throughout the year.
