Mount Allison Grange will coordinate the Ignacio 9Health Fair from 7 to 11 a.m. April 22 at Ignacio High School, 315 Ignacio St.
9Health will offer two new health screenings with assistance from medical professionals:
Testosterone. This test provides baseline testosterone levels that can affect the brain, bone and muscle mass, fat distribution, vascular system, energy levels, genital tissues and sexual function. Cost is $35 for men and $45 for women.Vitamin B12. This test provides baseline vitamin B12 levels that play a key role in the normal function of the nervous system and the formation of red blood cells. Cost is free with the purchase of other screenings.Other screenings include:
Blood chemistry, $35.Prostate specific antigen, $30.Vitamin D, $45.Blood cell count, $20.Hemoglobin A1C, $20.Colon cancer screening kit, $25.The 9Health Fair Medical Advisory Committee has determined that fasting is not required for blood screenings. Participants should drink plenty of water and continue to take prescription medications. People with diabetes should not fast.
