Bouncing back from a loss to Durango was no problem for the Ignacio High School girls basketball team.
The Bobcats beat Ridgway 41-37 on Friday in Ridgway to improve to 2-0 in San Juan League play.
Hilda Garcia led IHS (4-3, 2-0 SJL) with 11 points, while Alejandra Lujan scored eight, grabbed six rebounds and made five steals.
“Alejandra played a whale of a game,” IHS head coach Shane Seibel said.
Senior guard Sky Cotton led the Bobcats with seven rebounds.
Ignacio’s starters struggled with foul trouble early, but the Bobcats’ bench came in and gave them a lead just large enough.
“We played a tough game and learned a lot from this,” Seibel said.
IHS will return home for its next game, a 6:30 p.m. Friday matchup with Mancos at the SunUte Community Center.
