Doing our best to deceive, con artists aplenty
Attracting get rich schemes galore
Internet and smartphone gizmos and more used to implore.
Some get rich schemes contain phony silver
Paranoid rants to bring in that holy dollar
Is anything real?
Is today’s world a fake?
Pose it on Instagram
Pose it to chumps
A lot of the news is not real
Never ending this pursuit, it seems.
Smartphones came with incredible convenience
They monopolized much of our attention
Dependence on internet and mobile device
Became a benefit as well as a vice.
Living gets harder
Humankind seems to become more unkind
Forgetting to ask if what you saw was bona fide
It’s something I can’t perceive.
Is all this faux, causing
Anxiety and Pain?
Insecurity, Dishonesty
Depression, Obsession and Disdain?
Life becomes a further challenge
All the world seems a HOAX
Is anything real?
