Jenkins brings experience, vision to LPEA

I am writing in strong support of Jenn Jenkins to represent District 3 on the La Plata Electric Association Board of Directors. I first met Jenn more than a decade ago while serving together on the iAM MUSIC board. From the start, she stood out for her genuine passion for service and her rare ability to bring people together to get meaningful work done. Over the years, I’ve watched her consistently pair big-picture thinking with practical follow-through – qualities that are essential for effective leadership on the LPEA board.

Jenn has spent her career working in renewable energy, with a particular focus on rural communities and sustainability. She understands both the opportunities and challenges facing electric cooperatives today: keeping power reliable and affordable for members while responsibly planning for a cleaner energy future. Her experience gives her a grounded, informed perspective on these issues – not ideological, but solutions-driven.

Equally important, Jenn is a thoughtful listener. She values community input, respects differing viewpoints, and approaches complex decisions with care and integrity. In a time when energy decisions have long-term impacts on rural communities, LPEA needs directors who combine technical knowledge with a deep commitment to serving member-owners.

I believe Jenn Jenkins would bring clarity, collaboration, and strong stewardship to the LPEA board. District 3 would be well represented by her leadership, experience and dedication to our region.
