‘Just say no to the NRA’

A young black man in Kansas City rang the wrong doorbell. The homeowner was obviously threatened by the very presence of this black youth on his porch. Through the door, he allegedly shot the young man twice. Unbelievably, he survived after begging for help from nearby neighbors.

Being a black youth, most likely bleeding from his wounds, why would any advocate of “law and order” come to his aid? I have few details of another shooting within days of this incident. A young white woman was in a vehicle with others when they pulled into the wrong driveway. The homeowner was so threatened by this car appearing without an invitation, that they fired on the car, killing the young woman.

At the recent National Rifle Association gun jamboree in Texas, the governor of South Dakota gave all attendees warm fuzzys with her tender depiction of her 2-year-old granddaughter already armed with a shotgun and rifle. Little spirits, not much older than that 2 year old are all that many have left of children mowed down by guns at school. Insanity?

Sure enough. Just say no to the NRA.
