‘Keep guns, give up assault weapons’

Let’s be clear that the vast majority of Americans want a ban on assault weapons. Let’s be honest that these same Americans do not want to take guns and sport rifles from other Americans. That is just fearmongering. The AR-15 was designed for the military, and military personnel are the ones who should be using it, not ordinary citizens. Sportsmen would not think of shooting a semiautomatic rifle into a herd of deer or elk, but their quiet acquiescence in allowing anyone to own one results in someone firing a semiautomatic rifle into a classroom of children.

Wake up! My right to life is greater than your right to own an assault weapon. And let’s be clear: The one thing all of these mass murders in America have in common is the use of automatic weapons not knives, chainsaws, hatchets or swords. In Australia, New Zealand and Scotland, where assault weapons were banned after one mass shooting in those countries, there has not been another mass shooting since. Keep your guns - give up your assault weapons. Save lives!
