I would like to commend a government official for doing her job exceptionally well.

In the spring of this year, a county maintainer inadvertently damaged our irrigation pipeline.

We didn’t discover the damage until months later when we tried to utilize our water.

I made several calls to the county road department, but none of my voicemails was given a response.

Finally, I contacted County Commissioner Gwen Lachelt. Within hours, she and Mr. Davis of the road department inspected the damage and authorized reimbursement for our small subdivision to make the repairs.

The response of Commissioner Lachelt was swift and decisive; this is how government should always work.
