Letter: 30x30 offers conservation for all users

Over the 40 years I have visited and lived in Colorado, it has become apparent to me that most of the people who have chosen to live here or have stayed in the state they were born in absolutely love the outdoors.

We are lucky to live in a beautiful part of the country that still has some sizable amount of natural space intact. Wanting Colorado to stay this way seems to appeal to ranchers, environmentalists, hunters and outdoor sports enthusiasts alike.

There is a conservation plan that has been recently proposed by the current administration. Named “30x30,” it calls for 30% land and water conservation in the U.S. by 2030. I would like to thank our Colorado Senators Hickenlooper and Bennet for signing onto this proposal.

I see Coloradoans having a chance to help keep this state beautiful by enacting local legislation to protect land and water resources. In this way, we can all get behind a common goal.
