What has happened to my country? More specifically, what has happened to Durango?
Last summer, camo-clad, flag-waving, armed counter-protesters threatened Black Lives Matter protesters at Buckley Park, all of whom, with their children, were armed with picnic baskets. The gall of them to use our American flag to threaten peaceful families! Deepest gratitude to the Durango police officers who controlled that situation.
Then, the Western Slope elected an uneducated, ultra-right-wing extremist from arguably the most conservative, northwest corner of Colorado to be our representative in Congress.
This is a slippery slope into autocracy.
Now we have a new brand of the anti-science, know-nothing, Q-embracing, lunatic fringe threatening a civil servant just doing her job. And a limelight-hogging lawyer from the Front Range is displaying his best Ted Cruz iimpersonation.
Does Donald Trump have to choke to death on a McDonald’s cheeseburger to make this insanity stop?
