Letters: Blame Trump for late start fighting virus

It appears to me that we have a president who simply does not view the loss of human life as many of us do.

Following the Parkland school shooting, President Trump met with surviving students and promised them he would do something to prevent future shootings. However, only a few days later, Trump met with the NRA and abandoned his promise to the students.

Trump did not initially view the coronavirus seriously, resulting in us getting a late start in fighting the deadly virus. This undoubtedly resulted in the additional loss of lives.

Now, Trump wants to reduce vehicle emission standards, which is widely viewed as increasing the number of respiratory illnesses ultimately resulting in more deaths.

How can people continue to support such a man? Have our standards of decency changed?
