Letters: Japan, Germany, Italy and France pity us

America’s biggest threat today to both our health and our economy is COVID-19. The objective way to see how well we’ve responded is to compare ourselves to our peers – the wealthy, industrial, advanced countries of the G7 (specifically Japan, Germany Italy, France, U.K., Canada and the U.S.). The U.S. does not have the lowest death rate within the G7. In fact, we’re not even in the middle. We have the rock bottom worst death rate! We are not the leader, or the envy of the first world. They pity us.
