I first met Matt Salka about four years ago while walking our dogs. Had no idea who he was, and we started talking about living in the little town of Bayfield. During our discussion he let me know that he was the mayor of Bayfield, and that he liked to get opinions and suggestions from people on the issues that were important to them.
I left this first encounter very impressed with this young man who had taken the time to listen intently to my opinions without arguing or trying to change my mind. Matt is a very concerned and caring person who wants to do what is right for the people he represents, and that is what he did as mayor for Bayfield.
I know that he will bring the same kind of dedication to the job of La Plata County commissioner, and that he truly is someone who will represent the people he serves.
In this time of political divisiveness, Matt will be a breath of fresh air, someone who is more interested in getting results for the people he represents than any political agenda. Elect Matt and you will get someone who will work for everyone!
