Letters: Unmasked man in grocery store must go

On Monday, another woman and I were shopping when a man brushed past us, his mask pulled down to his chin as he spoke loudly into his cellphone. He announced that he was self-quarantining because he’d been exposed to someone who has COVID-19.

Self-quarantining at the grocery store without covering his mouth and nose!

Such idiotic behavior obviously defeats the purposes of contact tracing and isolation. It’s precisely this mindless lack of consideration that is spreading coronavirus in much of our country.

I was very sorry to witness it in Durango. I suggest that if anyone has a similar experience, they ask a manager to escort the person from the store.
