Ignacio Wrestling announces merger

Ignacio Wrestling Association, a nonprofit organization started to promote Ignacio Wrestling and the surrounding communities, announces its merger with the community’s traveling, tournament Pee Wee program as of Sept. 1.

The meetings and membership are open to anyone who would like to attend as well as participate in activities. The association’s mission is to help wrestlers from Pee Wee to adult, to become a better and more competitive athlete; as well as instill values, respect, sportsmanship and an understanding of community involvement, work ethic and self-esteem. The volunteers are available to help with fundraisers, travel to nonschool sanctioned events and additional experienced coaching. The money raised by the association is available for scholarships, travel, equipment as well as any other needs deemed appropriate by the association.

For more information concerning the Pee Wee program, call Kelly McCoy at 769-0979. For more information concerning the association, call Tracy Mickey at 749-5432. For more general information, email Ignacio.wrestling@yahoo.com.
