Event to benefit Eileen Reedy

A group of Durango residents are working to help longtime Durango resident Eileen Reedy, who recently suffered a life-changing accident, by holding an event in her honor from 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 11 at Durango Mountain Resort Purgy’s Restaurant.

The fundraiser is “HelpHopeLive for Eileen Reedy: An Afternoon of Love & Support to Benefit the North-Central Spinal Cord Injury Fund.” All proceeds will be donated to help with Reedy’s uninsured rehabilitation and medical expenses. Reedy fell down the stairs and suffered a spinal cord injury. Currently, she is paralyzed from the chest down. She needs about 40 hours a week of private home-health care in addition to 12-14 sessions per week of various forms of rehabilitation therapy.

The event will feature live music, $5 beer with raffle ticket special, raffle with grand prizes, silent auction and more. All donations are tax deductible.

People who are unable to attend but would like to donate may visit https://m.helphopelive.org/campaign/5887. For more information, email Deanna Luna at deanna@magnuseffect.com or call 903-9088.
