Orthodox and many Eastern Catholic churches celebrate Easter at a different time than Western churches because they use the Julian calendar and Western churches the Gregorian calendar. There also is a difference in definitions of a full moon and equinox, meaning the celebration of Easter, or Pascha as Orthodox churches call it after the Hebrew word for Passover, can fall as much as five weeks apart. The next time Easter will fall on the same Sunday for both Eastern and Western churches is 2017.
