Treasurer’s Office closed Wednesday

The La Plata County Treasurer’s Office will be closed to the public Wednesday to allow employees to participate in a workshop.

The office employees will be working to make the tax-payment process more efficient and cost effective. The office will resume its normal business hours Thursday.

Anderson will address Durango Rotary

The Durango High Noon Rotary Club will meet from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.

John Anderson with the Governor’s Education Commission will speak on “Higher Education in Colorado.”

The meetings are open to the public. The cost for lunch is $15.

Food Bank has extras for local pig farmers

The Durango Food Bank is looking for pig farmers interested in picking up unsalvageable food products.

These food items include bread, pastries and produce that are past the point of human consumption.
