Rep. Mike McLachlan embodies the type of leader we need in Denver to stand up for our interests in Southwest Colorado. He’s a veteran who enlisted in 1965, fought and served with distinction. He’s an attorney, but one shouldn’t hold that against him. It means he understands the law, how to draft sensible measures and how to apply those laws appropriately. As solicitor general for Colorado, he successfully fought for the rights of people to access health care safely and helped less fortunate people to make the right choices for their families and finances. As our state legislator, he ensured that clean, renewable energy in our sunny part of the state is on the same footing as nonrenewable, polluting sources in voting to pass House Bill 252. We’re very fortunate to have Rep. McLachlan as our public servant, and we should make sure he returns to carry on his good work on our behalf.
