The Leapfrog Group recently announced that Mercy Regional Medical Center received an “A” for patient safety according to New Hospital Safety Scores, an evaluation that assigns A, B, C, D and F letter grades to hospitals nationwide.
This is Mercy’s 10th consecutive “A” grade since 2012. The medical center was among 823 hospitals in the nation and 16 in Colorado to achieve the highest grade during the most recent evaluation.
The Hospital Safety Score was developed by The Leapfrog Group’s Blue Ribbon Expert Panel and uses 30 measures of public safety data to evaluate more than 2,600 hospitals in the nation, twice annually. Letter grades are calculated by patient-safety experts, peer-reviewed and released to the public at no cost.
