Mercy Regional Medical Center Spine Center of Excellence will host the free community presentation “Back Pain Explained” with fellowship-trained spine surgeon Dr. Douglas Orndorff at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Suns Room, Central Classroom Complex, San Juan College, 4601 College Blvd., in Farmington.
Hors d’oeuvres and reception will take place at 5:30 p.m., followed by the presentation at 6 p.m.
Orndorff will explain the common causes of pain, numbness and weakness of the lower back and legs that are associated with degenerative changes in the lower spine. He will also describe surgical and non-surgical treatments and innovative procedures that can provide relief.
