Mercy Regional Medical Center and the Colorado State University Extension Office are offering a free weight-management course from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays – Feb. 12, Feb. 19, Feb. 25, March 11, March 25, April 1 and April 8 – at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
The courses will be led by Dr. Sarah Goodpastor, CSU Extension agent Nicole Clark, Flow Wolf and Marge Morris.
Topics will include: the science of obesity, affordable whole foods, meal planning, the microbiome, mindful eating, behavioral change, sleep, stress and exercise.
Participants are asked to attend the first group meeting at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday. The first meeting will begin with weigh-ins at 3:45 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 4 p.m. The first meeting will include a nutrition plan, food records, overview of dates/times and time for questions.
