Mountain Middle School has received a $2,000 grant from Colorado Tree Coalition for the “Trees Are the Answer!” project, which aims to educate future generations about planting, nurturing and sustaining a healthy tree population.
With the grant, Mountain Middle School will plant 10 to 12 trees to restore two areas of the campus that are treeless. The goal is to give kids a green space to play, create a buffer to reduce the amount of street noise and shade the west-facing classroom, playground area, meditation alcove and two outdoor “kiva-like” classrooms.
