When voting for city councilors, we must consider Durango’s current needs as well as our vision for our future.
Candidates Barbara Noseworthy and Kim Baxter provide positive answers to both questions.
Regardless of how you vote on 1A, Durango is facing a wicked problem: how to balance our city budget while maintaining our current amenities, and plan for future expenses.
Barbara and Kim have the most extensive financial backgrounds for this task, including understanding organizational structure, setting budget priorities and expanding our economic base.
They would analyze the city’s upcoming financial needs, then create a solid fiscal plan for them. They would also focus on the long-term sustainability of parks and rec, so our recreational jewels can continue to benefit all of us, and our quality of life!
Durango also needs to sustain our diversity of people; our range of ages, ethnicity and incomes: this is what makes us a real community. Both Barbara and Kim have done an impressive level of homework, listening to numerous community leaders and neighbors. Therefore, they bring well-thought-out solutions for a wide scope of issues, from affordable housing to higher paying local jobs – all needed to sustain our real community.
Barbara Noseworthy and Kim Baxter have not only the vision, but the proven experience to solve all these issues in a way which best suits Durango’s unique character and opportunities.
