New eatery opens at Tamarron

If you’re on your way to Silverton or DMR, you might want to check out a new restaurant with beautiful mountain views at Tamarron Lodge.

Called Stan’s in honor of Stan Wadsworth, the founder of the original resort north of town, it features American classics from soup to nuts in a spectacular setting (and offers an outdoor deck in fair weather). Salads, wings, calamari, pizza, burgers and more are on offer, but broccoli and cauliflower are nixed from the menu because Wadsworth eschewed them both.

Stan’s is open 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday-Monday at 314 N. Tamarron Drive, 382-6776, and also provides take-out.

Relocated Tacos Nayarit expands its menu

Tacos Nayarit reopens this weekend in a new and larger location less than a block north of its current North Main spot.

The casual eatery with some of the town’s tastiest tacos – try the shrimp, so good – is expanding not just its space but its menu, too. A new, raw bar will feature oysters and different types of ceviche, posole and pollo asados (rotisserie chicken). It’s also installing a tequila bar and, in a few weeks, a drive-through.

The new space has a 10-person bar and eight draft beers, as well as snazzy new furnishings and a new club-quality sound system. Weekday hours run from 11 a.m.-12 a.m., weekends, 11 a.m.-2 a.m. at its new location, 2525 N. Main Ave., next to Firestone Tires.

Remodeled Cyprus hosts open house

Want a peek at the redone Cyprus Cafe and some free prosecco while you’re at it?

Owner Alison Dance closed the restaurant for the month of November to work some fresh magic on an old favorite. Reopening Thursday, Dance is holding open houses from 3-5 p.m. Thursday and Friday for anyone who wants a look at the overhauled space, new décor, new dishes, new menu, the whole shebang.

Known for her Mediterranean cuisine with a twist – let’s hope she’s keeping the polenta lasagna – Dance focuses on fresh, local produce in full-flavored dishes.

The restaurant, at 725 2nd Ave., will serve lunch from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and dinner from 5-9 p.m. every day but Sunday.
