In a recent edition of The Durango Herald, the one article that caught my attention concerned the outrageous budget of the Parks and Recreation Department (“
So much money to fund a city department that fully discounts the wants and needs of its users. The article clearly states that despite two statistically valid surveys and additional online polls that the people of Durango would clearly rather it spends its time and money maintaining what we are already so fortunate to have and use. Oh well, so much for the will of the people. I’m sure the Parks and Rec people know better how to serve our needs.
I find this even more ludicrous because our roads and roadsides are in absolutely horrible condition. I nominate County Road 142 for the best worst road in La Plata County in our wonderful online poll of the Best of Durango.
