In America, we’re often encouraged to think out of the box, look at situations from different points of view and examine a problem not from a standard perspective. Diversity is a positive ingredient.
I am an independent, and it bothers me that all of our present county commissioners are of the same party who almost always vote the same. How often do they have fresh, separate opinions and think in unlike ways?
Mark Twain said something along the line of “when people in a room all think the same, there really isn’t much thinking going on.” Neither party has a monopoly on good or bad ideas.
We have the opportunity to elect a candidate of a different party who will bring other ideas to the county commission – Paul Black. He’s a young, competent, self-employed businessman/entrepreneur who will bring a unique perspective to the Board of County Commissioners.
Paul Black has shown that he is a good listener, observant and possesses what seems to be rare in today’s government – a large amount of common sense. John Prine said, “It don’t make much sense that common sense, don’t make no sense no more.”
Vote for Paul Black for La Plata County commissioner.
