I have lived in Durango for several years, and it is clear we need a fresh perspective on business development and permitting in La Plata County. Small businesses play a vital role in creating jobs and opportunities, and supporting them is key to building a stronger, more successful community. Right now, these businesses face unnecessary challenges due to overly complicated local government rules. Candidate Paul Black, for La Plata County commissioner, understands this issue and aims to simplify the process, making it easier and more affordable for small-business owners to succeed.
Paul’s goal is to shift the way the county government works, particularly in the community development department. He believes this department should be helping residents by making permits easier to access and the processes simpler.
