‘People want whistles toned down’

I must disagree with a recent letter about loud train whistles. Most folks I know “are negatively affected” by the loud train whistles that come by at least six times a day. Not to mention that there have been many studies done on the negative effects of loud noise on people. Most people I know don't want the train to stop running but want the whistles to be toned down to the minimum required level.

Our pledge to our flag ends with “liberty and justice for all.” To me, that means that we can pursue financial success, but not at the sacrifice of justice for all. In this case, I would interpret that to mean keeping the train whistle to the minimum.
