Photo: Francisco’s name to grace building

Jason Bowers, top, and Phillip Diggs, both with Creative Color Solutions, repaint the front sign on top of the old Francisco’s Restaurante y Cantina, keeping the name on the Main Avenue building. An outdoor clothing store and two restaurants are moving into the building. The new occupants will adhere to city design regulations and preserve the integrity of the 50-year-old storefront, which was the subject of a vocal public uprising earlier this year when Durango officials proposed removing the building’s prominent Spanish-style veranda.
