Photo: Planting a cover crop at the Fort Lewis College Environmental Center garden

Paula Plentnikoff, a member of the Fort Lewis College Environmental Center food security team, sows a cover crop Thursday that is a mix of rye seed. The center’s garden grows a variety of food, which goes to the college’s dining services and campus organizations. Because of warm temperatures, the season’s final harvest will be in two weeks. The National Weather Service predicts a high of 60 on Friday in Durango.
