The Ignacio High School baseball team dropped both games in Tuesday’s San Juan Basin League doubleheader, as the Bobcats lost 12-2 and 13-2 to Dolores with both games ending in five innings.

In Game 1, Dolores pitcher Niel Farias grabbed the win as he struck out three, gave up two hits, two runs – one of which was earned – in a complete-game effort.

Ignacio’s Clint Talamante-Benavidez just barely slides beneath the tag of Dolores catcher Cael Schmittel, scoring a run during Game 1 of Tuesday’s doubleheader at IHS Field.

He was also efficient at the plate, as he went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Also contributing for the Bears (12-5, 8-3 Class 2A District 3/5) was Dakota Smith, who went 1-for-3 with a run and two runs batted in.
