Put pickleball courts by ball fields

My understanding is that the planned construction of outdoor pickleball courts has been approved and that is sweet news. The sour news is that to the best of my knowledge, consideration was not given to building the courts along north Main Avenue adjacent to the two baseball fields. The north Main Avenue site would have to be at least a 50% savings in construction costs ($150,000 versus $300,000) and has zero sound abatement issues. (Cost estimated at $30,000)

I hope that the Durango Parks & Recreation Department takes one more look at the north Main site before starting construction at Schneider Park.
