A women’s self-defense workshop will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 9 at Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
Conflict-solutions specialist and head instructor at Kokikai Durango, Thomas Holmes, will teach participants effective self-defense techniques and how to practice awareness.
The class is open to women 13 and older, and cost is $30.
Martial arts experience is not necessary.
