Charles Reid, a long-time employee and retiree of Fort Lewis College, passed away Jan. 2. Mr. Reid (Although he later said I could call him Charlie, I just had too much respect for him to use his first name) was a mentor to me when I was a student and later when I began my career at the college.
He was a man of high integrity. He worked very hard for Fort Lewis College and set an excellent example for the rest of us to follow.
He was dedicated to his family, yet he gave so much of himself to the college. His influence on my career made a positive difference for me. I believe so many people who worked with him at Fort Lewis College appreciated his work ethic, intellect and his expertise.
He made Fort Lewis College a much better place.
