I feel it important to write after reading the story of Sterling Schaaf, his life, work and retirement (“They used to eat us alive,” Herald, Oct. 31) to thank him for all of his dedication in the field of mosquito control. What a great, informative article in praise of such a wonderful person in our community.
Coming from Kentucky to Durango, I can share so many thoughts regarding mosquitoes and their control, but the bottom line is that Schaaf has protected us, and for that, my family and I thank you very much and send him and his family our best wishes. Take care.
