I managed the Animas Mosquito Control District for 27 years. During the last 12 or so years, I also worked as a reserve deputy under Sheriff Duke Schirard and served in different areas: patrol, roadblock, search and rescue and traffic control.
During that period of time, I saw the many different operations under Sheriff Schirard’s direction and supervision. I have been impressed with the operations and the response of the different officers while being a deputy. He has always shown to be a good leader with the respect of those who serve under him and the community. Over the years, he has always had the interests of the community at heart. I believe the years of his service have been a real asset and benefit to the county.
I, therefore (and in total agreement with his decision to run again), give my support of Sheriff Duke Schirard in his decision to run for re-election this November.
