A seminar about strategies to address suicide and opioid use will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lightner Room at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
This is a free event for medical professionals and staff.
The seminar will address substance abuse prevention, suicide prevention, motivational interviewing, risks and benefits of prescribing opioids and monitoring patients on chronic opioid therapy.
Presenters will include Jillian Morrison with Peer Assistance Services, Dr. David Greenberg and Dr. Daniel Caplin.
Dinner will be provided.
