Mum’s the word about when Lake Nighthorse is projected to open? Has the $500 million reservoir built three miles west of Durango been forgotten? Has this story been swept under the rug because more than 10 years have passed since construction began and there still is no one to manage this recreation area?
Any updates regarding city annexation plans, management, archaeological work and an opening date would be deserving of Herald readers. At least this delay buys time for the stocked fish to mature for the future indulgence of fishermen.
