Speak up to preserve the U.S. Constitution

Thousands of federal employees have lost their jobs due to the current administration’s cuts and threats to cut U.S. government programs. Each job lost has ripple effects throughout our economy and society. Those people who are losing or have lost their jobs cut their spending as much as possible. Everyone down the line feels the cuts and cuts their spending.

Add to that both the on-again, off-again tariff threats by the president, which are causing much fear throughout the U.S. economic sector, and the mass deportation of our faithful, law-abiding, blue-collar laborers whose skin is darker than some like, our country as a whole suffers. At the same time, Trump’s yes-men are cutting or disabling every system which helps people: food assistance, health care, education, job training, housing assistance, libraries, Social Security, etc.

Meanwhile, the wealthiest will benefit from tax cuts adding to their massive fortunes at the average citizen’s expense. With those cuts, the U.S. is looking forward to massive increases in the U.S. deficit over the next 10 years.

History shows that, when misery and desperation rise in a given community, state and nation, crime and violence and illicit drug use do, as well. Increased crime leads to an increased police state – just what our leaders appear to want as they continue to increase the presidential power and attempt to bypass the constitutional separation of powers.

Now is the time to speak up loudly if you would like to preserve the remnants of our constitutional federal republic and representative democracy.
