Tiospaye, a nonprofit that provides La Plata and Montezuma counties, and across the country, with personal and professional development through experiential education, emotional-intelligence work, leadership and youth training and mentors, completed its seventh leadership cycle since it was founded in 2015.
We exceeded our goal of $40,000, and 21 people raised a total of $46,025.98 in 24 days.
Tangible service project impacts included: $23,067.99 Jan. 16 for the Piñon Project and $22,957.99 Jan. 9 for La Plata Youth Services. Funds were received from 63 cash or check donations, 152 online donations and other auction items.
On behalf of Tiospaye and Living Vision 6 graduates, we want to thank all of the donors who contributed to the “We Make the Road” community service project, which ran from Nov. 16-29.
We also thank the programs and projects that enhance the community because together, we are powerful and can bring great things for youth and families in the area.

Proceeds go to La Plata Youth Services and The Piñon Project to contribute to building improvements, operations costs, and youth and family programming.

The next training cycle will start March 16.

Thanks to all who came out on a sunny Saturday for the ninth annual Diversity Dialogue with a big shout out to the youths who came from across the county to attend – your participation is recognized and appreciated!
The dialogue is coordinated by the Embracing Diversity Initiative, a youth-adult partnership that facilitates diversity workshops to promote intercultural understanding and personal/organization growth.
