Tim Williams thanks supporters

I am Tim Williams, Jason DuPuis’ stepfather, and I’ve been married to his lovely mother Bonnie for 28 years. I would like to express my grateful thanks to all the people of Bayfield and Durango, and especially his brothers and sisters from his motorcycle club. They have stepped up in an awesome manner. At this time, his mother is in Colorado to help with the granddaughters and Dawn, although we live in Arizona.

I also want to thank all the people who donated to the Jason DuPuis GoFundMe account. It has been a enormous help.

There are no winners from this for both families who were involved in the tragedy. It will take some time to adjust to not having “Jay” around. His smile, bear hugs and having a beer with him will always be missed. He was an awesome human being, father, husband and son. He loved Durango, his friends and, most of all, his family, which included members of his motorcycle club. They do a lot of good work.

Again, my heartfelt thanks goes out to the community for all their support.

CEAC thankful for 2018 contributions

Community Emergency Assistance Coalition and Housing Solutions for the Southwest would like to express gratitude to members of our faith-based community in Southwest Colorado.

St. Columba Catholic Church, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Christ the King Lutheran Church, First United Methodist Church of Durango and Durango Friends Meeting (Quakers) made generous contributions to CEAC in 2018. We know the generosity comes from members who give their compassion and faith. Funds allow CEAC to help people who face difficult, sometimes devastating, life emergencies that require immediate financial assistance. Each year, CEAC supplies funding to hundreds of people who need help with one-time rental or mortgage assistance, car repairs or utility emergencies. We want to honor the work and investment that our faith based partners contribute – we would not be able to do it without you.

Blueprints of Hope shows appreciation

Blueprints of Hope would like to thank the Cancer League of Colorado and the Ballantine Family Fund for the generous grants that enable us to continue our community-based oncology nurse and lay navigation program for cancer survivors, patients and caregivers in the community. Additionally, we extend our gratitude to Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for its funding of our “Living Well with and Beyond Cancer” self-care workshops for the next year.

Our programming would not be possible without the support, trust and confidence that these agencies provide our organization.

Mercy thanked for outstanding care

We are so thankful for the wonderful care that all the Mercy Hospital staff provided Bailey Wessels-Halverson during March. It’s such a comfort to know they are there. They were supportive, caring and talented. Also, it was a gift to learn that your loved one can hear you even when they are in a coma. Special thanks goes to Lora Coburn and Tim Wise for putting me up while Bailey was in the intensive care unit.
