More than 100 volunteers contributed their time to make the annual Friends of the Durango Public Library holiday bag sale a smashing success.
Money from the sale, as always, sponsor programs offered by Durango Public Library ad its branches. The book sales are made possible by library friends who sort donated books; book haulers who bring hundreds of book boxes from storage; those who set up and take down the sale; and the cashiers who work during the sale, to name just a few tasks involved.
After the sale, the Friends of the Library were able to donate 848 pounds of books to local nonprofits. The Durango community deserves a huge thank you. Your enthusiastic shopping and support at our sales mean we can continue to fund public programs and library needs. Your book donations, which arrive daily throughout the year, keep the Friends of the Library book store well-stocked and our sale tables over-flowing.

Florida Mesa Elementary School would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Butter Braid fundraiser.
Our Butter Braids will be delivered soon and we will find out how much was collected for our shade structure on the playground.
