The promise of social security, a looming emergency

Like many semiretired people, I am drawing on the money I deposited (through taxes) into social security. I count on this monthly disbursement for paying bills, for food, for paying the mortgage.

I am deeply concerned that the Trump-MAGA-Musk team and the cowardly GOP is planning on breaking the social security system with their DOGE efforts.

That is a vile betrayal.

Then they will use the breakdown they caused as pretext to go in and cut and “privatize” the whole system, a far greater betrayal of everyone involved with social security.

This, after each one of them promised to not touch social security and Medicare. Their promises seem to be only empty posturing to getting elected or approved. They make them and break them like you and I change shirts.

They do not care about you and me. They have no loyalty to the promise of social security, nor to the Constitution of the USA.

Their loyalty is to their own riches and their empty fealty to Trump. I hope all of you are watching, speaking out, and ready to march with “torches and pitchforks” to demand they honor the promise of social security and all the money we have all paid into it.

Their malicious greed is shocking and shameful. And, in the next election we must vote to give control of the House and Senate back to Democrats so that the wild, illegal, amoral and unconstitutional antics of Trump are stopped.
