I am a veteran and a voter. At 76 years old, I can remember when Harry Truman was president. For sure, the Trump administration is the most questionable in my lifetime and maybe in the history of the United States.
Our economy is in great shape, so why did Congress give a large tax break to the rich? The separation of parents from children at the border is the worst of all of the actions this administration has taken. (Worse than the internment of Japanese-American families in World War II). The detention of thousands of people, seeking asylum from terror and gang violence, in makeshift prisons around the country, is second. Most of these people seeking safety are from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, countries led by dictators or army generals whom we have supported for years.
Trump appears to have caved in to North Korea for a photo-op, and now he wants to do the same with another dictator, Putin of Russia. In the meantime, he is alienating our Pacific and European allies who have democratically-elected leaders.
What is going on?
If you’re concerned, please call our Sens. Gardner and Bennet and Rep. Tipton.
We are now in an election year. We as Americans need to speak clearly for our values and oppose a questionable administration.
