Republican partisanship has merged with xenophobia to produce a callous disregard for the plight of Syrian refugees.

Rep. Scott Tipton has joined with 30 Republican governors, all the Republican presidential candidates and the usual suspects on Fox News to engage in fear-mongering to deny sanctuary to thousands of men, women and children who endured incredible hardships and fled for their lives.

It would make as much sense for Tipton and his ilk to fear their own shadows. Perhaps they do but, whatever the case may be, Tipton (despite his title) does not represent me on this issue. I suspect that is true for the majority of Coloradoans as well.
